Coffee, known for its unique and pleasant sensorial and organoleptic characteristics, has multiple beneficial properties that are increasingly exploited by the cosmetics industry.

More than 1000 different chemical compounds have been found in coffee and coffee seeds contain a significant concentration of caffeine, polyphenols, flavonoids and triacylglycerols, bioactive compounds with high antioxidant and antimicrobial activity.

The oil extracted from green coffee seeds (by cold pressing) preserves the properties of the seeds unaltered. This vegetable oil has a unique composition and numerous scientific studies have demonstrated its effectiveness for well-being of the skin. Green coffee oil has been shown in vitro to have a dose-dependent activity of stimulating the synthesis of collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycans, the building blocks of the skin dermis, to have antioxidant efficacy thanks to the lipid fraction rich in triacyglycerols, tocopherols and sterols and to promote photo protection, resulting in a natural booster against the action of ultraviolet rays.
